Personal Investments • Hearing Horror Stories that Vanguard Doesn't Let You Withdraw Your Money From New Brokerage Account

No one has reported not being able to withdraw for 1 year.
It was reported that Vanguard has a 1-year hold policy. It would seem strange to call it that if it never actually runs for one year. Also, even if some people got the hold lifted, delays of days or weeks (as reported in various threads) aren't exactly fun.
Whatever that means, because it obviously doesn’t mean that you can’t withdraw your money for a year, since in every instance, the customer was able to withdraw their money in much less than a year.
If you really mean "in every instance"... then you read through all the previous threads on this topic (the ones linked via this thread, as well as any others) and confirmed that each person got a complete resolution within one year? ... and you found out who the "others" were, referenced by the OP ("others have said up to one year"), and confirmed that each of them also got such resolution? ... and you also found out about everyone not on this forum who encountered the same problem, and confirmed the same as well? I mean, really, "every instance", and you have confirmation of them?

If so, great job!
Yes, a few days or a week or two is aggravating, but it’s not even close to a full year.
The topic title says "horror stories". If 364 days or less doesn't qualify, then sorry.
And I’ve yet to see evidence of a Vanguard policy on 1 year holds.
Call me naive, but I assume good faith. I'm willing to assume that the people who posted aren't lying, and also that the Vanguard reps who spoke to them aren't lying either.
Still no explanation of why this occurred
Read people's reports of what Vanguard reps told them. They're in this thread, and also the threads linked via this threads (and the threads those link to, and so on).
FWIW, here’s a recent report of a 1 year hold at Fidelity:

In all fairness, if I were to apply your logic, I'd respond to the above by saying there's no evidence. But I won't, since there wouldn't be any logic in responding that way.
