Personal Consumer Issues • Reasonable car insurance rates for Tesla Model Y?

Preface this by saying i understand that car insurance is extremely personal and dependent on personal history - for reference i have a clean driving record with no citations/accidents.

Currently with Geico and was paying around $540/6 mos for an 06 honda with 2 drivers on the policy. Now adding a Tesla Model Y and insurance jumped to $1075/6 mos with the 2 drivers.

Breakdown of new premium is around $380 for the honda and $694 on the tesla

Coverages on the Honda remain the same ($0 comprehensive deductible, $50 collision deductible - seems unnecessary but its dirt cheap so figured why not).

Coverages on the Tesla is $500 deductible for both comprehensive and collision. Could go with the only other higher deductible $1000 but the savings to me is not worth it.

Only "other" coverages i opted for were towing/labor at $8/vehicle.

- Bodily injury for all is $300k/$300k (required by umbrella policy)
- Property damage liability is at $100 k (required by umbrella policy)
- Combined uninsured motorist/underinsured motorist bodily injury also at 300k/300k (not included in umbrella so could go lower on this to save money but feel comfortable at these limits matching bodily injury)

So overall was paying around $90/month for one car (06 model) with 2 drivers and now at $180/mo for 2 cars and 2 drivers.

This seems reasonable right? I am still shopping around but wanted to get an idea of what the consensus was. Have heard teslas could be very expensive to insure but this seems ok?
