We live in the US and my family has been under my husband's high deductible medical plan with HSA enrollment. My husband's company messed up the HSA contributions and has only withdrawn $300 from payroll so far this calendar year, but we were about to correct our contribution amount to max out the family contribution by the end of 2024.
I am starting a new job in June and it will make sense for my husband to go on a PPO through his employer so he will no longer be able to make HSA contributions this calendar year. My child and I will go under a high deductible plan with HSA through my employer. (Note that employee + child HDHP plans are eligible for the family HSA contribution amount.)
If I have an HSA for the remaining 7 months of 2024 through my employer, can I make the full 2024 annual family contribution via my payroll starting in June into *my* HSA account since our family did have a high deductible plan for the full calendar year?
