All good. I guess I still have Campari to look forward to. Perhaps I’ll pick up a bottle so I can do a side by side compare with an Aperol Negroni.I'm surprised the staff guided that.I went to buy Campari and came home with Aperol (guidance from staff). This thread inspired me to try some Campari, and I’m glad I did. I found Negronis a little strong for me but have really enjoyed Americanos and variations thereof. Very refreshing, and Campari seems quite versatile. Looking forward to some “frozen Negronis” on a hot day (blending regular Negronis with orange juice and ice). Thanks.TBH, I've never had luck substituting Campari in a negroni.
Excellent. Thanks.
Haven’t made Negronis in a while, so that will be the drink for tonight. I have a bottle of vermouth opened up a while ago I need to use up. Don’t have Campari but will figure out an alternate, or not. It’s a fun game once I’m inspired by an idea or two.![]()
I've swapped spirits and vermouths just fine.
So far so good. I guess Aperol is not as strong as Campari.
Campari and Aperol are pretty different in terms of flavors, and not really substitutable goods.
