Cash is a terrible long-term investment
Since I retired in 2007 (I have one IRA in STIG)

All of that overperformance occurred in the first 10 years. Ans since 2017, it was a heck of a ride even for short-term bonds.

And intermediate term? Hoo boy.
Buying in 2020s sure hurt.

Of course, short-term bonds still held on. I have always held an allocation in short-term fixed income; even as a kid, I would place some of my money in them.

No regrets.
