Yes. Forget about finance. ChatGPT fails spectacularly on even simple math statements. I asked ChatGPT to "prove that the square root of 2 is irrational." It had some reasonable-looking sentences, until you actually read them closely. Whereupon one sees that they were just gibberish. When I asked it if it really thought that was a valid proof, it came back and said, oops, sorry, no what it said wasn't valid, and that the question of whether square root of 2 is irrational is a longstanding open math problem. Even though there is literally a wikipedia page that dedicated to providing the simple proof.Agreed; thus my comment about failures in translating English to formulas. Computers can solve complicated equations, but they cannot convert the text of a problem into the equation that needs to be solved.
