Personal Investments • Should I stop 529 contributions?

No one has a crystal ball so we don't know for SURE if the current funds, grown for 9 and 13 years respectively, will be enough to pay for the 4y University of their choice. Given education-specific inflation has been higher than overall inflation and the extremely high current valuation of US stocks, it is certainly possible to have little to no real purchasing power growth in the funds for the next decade. Not likely... But possible.

That said, if I were in your shoes (and just assuming because I don't know your complete picture), id probably stop saving into the 529s and save in general taxable accounts, with the mental framework that there is a possibility I will have to use some of that taxable account to fund their education in the future.
