I have that card and chose to keep it because, even if the vash back is just 1%, it has a few hard-to-duplicate features. First is cell phone insurance, which would cost a few dollars a month per phone if purchased from a carrier. It has price protection if you find a better price on many types of merchandise within 60 days of purchase - did really well with this when I purchased a window air conditioner a few years ago. I can't recall whether it extends warranties by a year.
I use it mostly to pay my Medicare premium and cell phone bill.
A real negative for people who travel is that the card imposes a 3% foreign transaction fee.
We recently got an Amazon Prime Chase Visa card, which has many fine features (though not cell phone insurance) and gives 5% back on purchases from Amazon and Whole Foods and 2% back on Uber/Lyft. 1% on pretty much everything else.
