Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Retire in France, Shall I move my address to Flordia?

I would use the family member over a mailbox service but I haven't actually used the services. I wouldn't put my name on a utility bill and am not sure what you are trying to manage. There are a few things that might require proof of residence but in most of those cases your residence would be France. You aren't trying to get a FL library membership, are you :)
I found both worked best. Use a family member's address for the legal/residential address (whatever your broker calls it) and use the mailing service for the mailing address. That way things like debit cards or withdrawal notices (and other things you can't stop snail mail for) go directly to you and don't bother the family member.

Actually, having a name on a utility bill is great if the broker ever questions your residence, as they will ask for that. I've had my accounts frozen for being an expat before and that was what they asked for.

You also generally need a way to get SMS messages overseas unless your institutions all use some kind of app you can generate it from or will send it by email (less secure).
