Personal Consumer Issues • Keep a high mileage old car or get a better used one?

You "imagine" the insurance is low?

You have an 11 year old vehicle with high mileage as your only car? I would keep it as a 2nd or 3rd car, but not an only car.

You stated it won't last another 50,000 miles without major repair or worse, but how long will it take you to drive 50,000 miles?

Can you afford to replace it.

This is a forum where most members have this as their main car, so wrong place for auto advice IMO.

I did not write that this was our only car, we have others. Yes, I imagine the insurance on a 2013 Pilot is low; our auto policy is bundled to include all our vehicles and I don't feel like calling the insurance company for a breakdown of how much it costs to insure a 11 year old car worth $9k.

Now is definately the time to call your insurance company and see if you are properly insured at this point and what that insurance might change to if you selected from a couple of different new vehicles.
It is always good to review your coverage, and it is always best to know how that might change before you purchase something different.
