In our area, long-time nurseries often have their own mix of various seeds. That is what we use in a similar climate to yours. Our experimental efforts failed, theirs worked. You could probably do it yourself if you chose since the mix here is Kentucky 31, Rye (dies out in summer), fescue and some other types of grass that grows best in the shade. It is called "Russell's Shade" which uses the business name. Inexpensive, too. Seed over sod.
