Investing - Theory, News & General • Bond Fund To Substitute For SPIA? ...

Seems to me if someone wants lifetime income with some inflation protection they could put maybe 2/3 of their money in a fund like PIMIX (or VMSAX) and 1/3 in a stock index fund. Then spend the bond fund income and stock fund dividends, but let the stock fund grow. At about age 80 or so, start selling the stock fund and buying SPIAs as needed.
