My thesis is that with the internet, this type of pricing is now available for most active hobbies. There are already some well-established Wine indices https://www.liv-ex.com/news-insights/indices/. Websites like PriceCharting allow us to do the same for comic books https://www.pricecharting.com/game/comi ... n-300-1988.Then you need at least a dozen different pricing periods. The market data on comics is atrocious. The guide books are horrifically out of data and the prices are optimistic. The market is probably very thin, maybe only 2 or 3 books deep. But who knows?
I figure that I need to create a basket of 10-20, maybe multiple baskets defined by the different Ages, Independent Labels, etc. that you mentioned.
I actually used the Liv-Ex 100 Wine Index to create a Wine Report using this framework. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Oi ... sp=sharing
