That is some deer story! An area with way more deer than people. It's a rare morning commute that I don't at least see a few alongside the road and probably once a week I have to brake for one jumping out in front of me. Deer hits are extremely common here, and most of my neighbors have experienced it at least once if not multiple times. Heavily wooded areas and hillsides running right up to the road with corn fields on top of the hills. My kids say the morning and evening commutes are like a real life video game. What is a deer metropolis??!!!I live in a deer metropolis and have hit MANY over the years (at least one every two to three years) and it has never affected my rates. I keep a zero deductible on comprehensive because of how frequently it happens. I would fix it and move on.
I live in a rural area. Been in the same house for 42 years. Right above me are The Plains where I'm sure many, many, many live. Yet in all that time I don't think I've seen a deer ten total times. Less than a handful actually on the street.
Any given evening I can sit out on my deck and watch them wandering through my hay field and they're always setting off my Ring doorbell in the night.
