For me, besides being a more involved process to enter a box trade, another drawback is that it usually takes a while for the box order to be filled. And sometimes it never fills, even when the order is already a competitive one.
I'm curious, how long does it typically take to fill?

And if it never fills, does that mean you have to offer a much higher interest rate to get it filled?
Half an hour, an hour maybe? This is because box trades are not that heavily traded. But if you offer a much better interest than the market rate (say by 25 to 50 basis points), it can get executed much quicker. But then it would defeat the purpose of going the box trade route in the first place (for long trades).
