The current 2 year Treasury Note yield is about 4.00%. I buy these every month in my Vanguard brokerage account at auction with the funds in my settlement account. The next 2 year auction is Tuesday, August 27 - you can purchase it starting Thurday, August 22. Buying treasuries at auction and holding them to maturity greatly simplifies your tax reporting, you only report the interest and there is no capital gain/loss.
