Investing - Theory, News & General • What are you up YTD? [Year To Date]

Age 78, retired,no pension or annuity, my asset allocation is 60/40.

As of August 1, total return of my portfolio is up 10.05% year to date.

That is about 3 times my expected withdrawal for the entire year. My portfolio is up 38% since I retired.
Not being retired yet myself I am wondering, will you increase your spending since your portfolio is up so much (probably much more than you had projected) or will you keep things tight because of a potential, massive downturn, or simply to SWAN?
I will keep spending about the same, my level of spending covers everything I need or want including both charitable donations and gifts to children and grandchildren.
