I’ve had auto with Progressive for years. Always happy with prices and customer service.
Last month, Nationwide hit me with a 40% renewal increase for homeowner’s. I quickly and easily got a quote through Progressive for the same coverage, for less than half of Nationwide’s price. Sounds good, sign me up. That’s when the customer service nightmare began.
I asked them to add my trust as an additional insured. Progressive agency asked me for trust docs. (Nationwide never did.) I sent them, heard nothing for a week. Contacted them for status, they asked for a copy of the deed. Sent it immediately, no response for two weeks. Contacted them again, they said the trust wasn’t on the deed. On hold with customer service for an hour, finally they verified that the trust WAS on the deed. Told me the problem was that my husband and I had different last names. REALLY?! In 2024?!
Now I realized doing business with these clowns would be a nightmare. Asked to cancel. They sent me cancellation docs, I esigned, got confirmation, and waited two weeks. Contacted them again for refund status, they sent me a second set of cancellation docs. Another 10 days passed, they finally say they have mailed my refund. Never again doing business with these idiots!!
