It would be helpful to know what resolution screen is going to be used and whether your son tends to notice differences frame rates between 30-60 FPS (some people perceive 30 FPS to be relatively smooth, while to other people anything below 60 can appear choppy). 60 FPS in MSFS is a very high bar even with low graphics settings and a 1080p monitor.
