Prior to pandemic (or just in early stages) - got bitten by Citi’s (then) inept and much-delayed processes and lack of customer service.
Heard it has improved somewhat - but prolly still far-behind major brokerage houses. But, would imagine, in some ways better than these Web-only or Fintech based brokerages - which don’t have easily accessible/responding customer service.
Only thing temps us with Citi bonus is - their bonus is also applicable to IRA accounts. Most of the recent brokerage/banks only offer bonuses on Taxable accounts - NOT IRAs. WF and a smallish-bonus from ML Merrill-Edge (BoA) - offer bonuses on IRAs also., good. But not excited about RH’s 5-year hold for their IRA bonus.
Been hearing with Citi, one can churn bonus - but details are sketchy. Does one have to remove most of the monies/positions out of their account for some 30-days, and then re-enroll in their “then/that Quarter” bonus promotion ?
