It depends on your goals. I use credit card points primarily to transfer to airlines in order to purchase business or first class overseas award tickets. The Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Freedom Unlimited are a great pair for this purpose. The CFU earns 1.5 points per dollar (twice that on dining), and those points are combinable with the points earned with the CSP. Those combined points are transferable to airlines and other partners (whereas if you only have a CFU, the points are not transferrable). In addition, the CSP earns 2x points on travel, and has better travel benefits (primary car rental insurance, better travel insurance benefits). The CFU is free and CSP is $95/year. And you can also add a Freedom Flex for rotating 5x bonus categories (no annual fee).

If you just want to earn cash back, there are better cards than any of these.
