Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Unclear closing dates from the builder, current rental needs a 60 day notice

Builder is not giving any grace period once they set the closing date that works for them. A daily fine of $500 is charged if we dont close by the date they ask us to do it.
You should have pushed back on this condition when you signed the purchase and sale agreement.
Am I troubling myself and my family too much for saving a month of rent. Should I just pay rent till Jan 15th(99% chances of closing by then) and then go the route of hotel only if needed post Jan 15.
Yes. It's simply an extra expense of moving. It's actually quite nice to have an overlap, as it is much less stressful.

$7,000 is nothing in the scheme of things.
