Investing - Theory, News & General • Why hold nominal bonds at all? Why not 100% TIPS?

I recall Larry Swedroe posting a study article here that concluded that 100% TIPS was best for retiree fixed income. Then, at the very end, the article declared that this allocation might be best for most investors, period.
Hello pascalwager,
TIPS at best will only cover a part of future spending needs. Personal inflation typically exceeds CPI.
Taking on additional risk to compensate is a necessary reality.
See colored text above. The study did not recommend holding only TIPS to the exclusion of (risky) stocks.
