Will they have SS? If so how much. Agree with Lawrence of Suburbia that the heavy bonds and no US equities is way off.Need some help on figuring out how to allocate a porfolio for a 60 year who is nearing retirement and has been holding $600,000 in 95% BND, 5% VXUS. What is the best way to reshuffle the portfolio?
-Plans to retire as early as 65-67 y/o
-Expects pension of $300/month
-Annual spend is likely $40-50k /year
-Lives in California
-Currently makes 70k/yr
Maybe they should hold 60% equities and 40 % bonds. Their equities should maybe be 70% VTI and 30% VXUS. Their portfolio is not reasonable too bond heavy and the equities are not diversified properly.
