The strongest Costco hearing aids (Phonak) did not improve intelligibility for me so I don’t use them.
To survive this problem I found an app (CaptionCall) that converts voice to text on the phone. The first time I used it was for a 911 call when I broke my leg a few months ago and it worked very well.
For in-person voice to text conversion I use an app called NALscribe which works well. It is a free app with no ads courtesy of the Australian government. I am American but had no problems signing up.
