[Topic is now in Personal Consumer Issues - mod mkc]

* 25,000mi/yr, mostly crawling
* I want a “boring” car with the lowest total cost of ownership, for as long as possible until it makes sense to replace it
* Inexpensive to buy and depreciates slowly
* Low insurance (liability and uninsured in Florida)
* Safe in a collision
* I dont know what my price range is, mainly because I’m having trouble finding a consensus on how old it should be to get the sweet spot between low depreciation and low maintenance.
* I can, however, buy it outright.
We live in an affluent (snobby??) rural area of town that has a 22 mile mostly straight with a few hills nice scenic 2 lane asphalt road.
Often seen on Sundays in nice weather, weekends when there are classic car shows in town or in the area. Likely the only time they are driven, otherwise they live in people's (white hair retirees) classic car garages.

1968 Chevelle SS 396, red with white stripes.
1964 Corvette Convertibles, various "sting ray models".
1965-67 Ford Mustang Convertibles and hardtops. All original. Like new.
Various early year classic (as seen on the old TV series "The Avengers" "Jaguar XKE (v12)
Various British early year classic sports cars; Triumph, MGB, Austin Healy, etc.
