The question for the group is whether you would make any adjustment to the above plan? Should I be including more shorter term duration fixed income assets into the mix and when?

With regard to short term assets, isn't that what the 1x in I-bonds and 1x in HYSA is supposed to handle?

At your age (40s) moving large quantities of your portfolio toward short term bonds seems premature unless you have some immediate plans to spend that money.

As always, with bond investments, time horizon matters, and if you really don't know exactly when you'll be spending this money, then using an intermediate term fund like MUB or BND is a decent solution.
