More likely a change your employer or their bank has made. I still see my wife's payroll, SS, and pensions (all being direct-deposited to a Fidelity CMA) posting a day early. The only thing I have noticed is my paychecks deposited to Fidelity used to show up at the time payroll started the ACH. Now they show up on the transaction date. More information:
Our payroll is usually ran and finished on a Wed afternoon for a Friday pay. The ACH transactions are sent to my employer's bank before close of business on Wed. Fidelity would usually make the funds available start of business Thur, sometimes end of Wed. depending on how early payroll would finish on Wed.
Now the money doesn't show up until Friday(official payday), usually in the morning.
