Investing - Theory, News & General • Vanguard Cash Plus Account

Agree, its mental accounting but it lets someone put some of their cash cushion into treasury money market (some state tax exemption) or maybe in the future state muni money markets (likely not a favorable strategy at this time for most). Whether someone calls it an emergency fund, 1-2 years of living expenses, rainy day fund, cash for car, cash for purchasing home it makes the separation between investment and spending.

From Vanguard's perspective the CP account is a very stripped down brokerage account, so for them it is minimal effort to enable the CP account to buy money market funds.
Unless auto liquidation within CP is a planned feature, I don't understand why it is in Vanguard's interest to give me two different places to buy MMAs and I certainly don't understand why it's in my interest to own it within the CP instead of my brokerage account. It just doesn't make sense without auto liquidation.
