I'm planning on using VPW because it allows me to spend more earlier (among other reasons, such as "can't fail" and "plan to die with zero"). If I knew I also would want to take it into account early, with flexibility guardrails similar to that of the whole portfolio.
The problem is how do you know for sure that you'll be getting? if it's an inherited portfolio, are you going to model getting an amount assuming 50% stock? If it's the sale of house, do you model some crash in the housing market? How do you know when you'll be getting it?
I suppose if it's a bunch of TIPS maturing at a specific date, then you can count on it 100%
