It was like Wow!, I can get 4.4% on a CD with no risk, I will take it.
Well, those products are tricky, because when it becomes less beneficial for the bank they can just give you money back and stop them.
then I was like, oh there is a money market fund that pays 4.4% I'll do that.
Well that was the rate this week, next week it may change.
then I was like ok, a HYSA, they are only paying 3.9% but hey its something.
Well those can change at any time also, and the thing that makes one of those go down is also the thing that makes all of them go down.
I guess at this point VUSXX at Vanguard is as good a place as any to park the profit from a house sale for 1 to 3 years.
I look into buying treasuries myself. I don't really understand how to do that and the treasury rates seem lower then what I would get at VUSXX.
