Welcome.

I know some great advisors that don't have a CFP, I know some pretty poor ones that have one. The most important thing is to find somebody that you can relate to well and communicate.
Should I prioritize those advisors with a CFA (or, I suppose a top finance MBA), or is that just overkill for what I'm looking for?
A CFA may be overkill. To simplify, CFP is for retail, CFA is for institutional. I mean, if you can find a CFA that you can relate to and has the right fee structure, pick them.
