I did it electronically on Empower last year. While the site says traditional, I keyed in the Roth at Fidelity and all worked like a an after-tax to Roth transfer would. I'm not on Vanguard, but wonder if the experience would be the same if you just keyed in your Vanguard Roth account number on the Empower site for the transfer?I wanted to follow up on this and see if the rollovers processed properly for taxes last year? I was hoping that empower would update their site to allow direct to roth (vs the odd traditional only option) at some point or the electronic direct to vanguard option. I'm still nervous about that and the paper check requirement. Did any of you use the vanguard app to deposit the check that empower sends you? I do not have the app but would add it for this purpose. For the check which option did you choose: Vanguard, Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Company, or VFTC?
