Personal Investments • Roth vs traditional

why is traditional better for higher tax rate?
Because you get a tax deduction on contributions, and will likely lose less to taxes when you retire at a lower tax rate.

For example, suppose you are in the 32% tax bracket and have $6800 to invest. You can invest $10,000 in a traditional account, and if you withdraw in a 24% tax bracket, this will be just as good as if you had invested $7600 in a Roth account.
