Personal Consumer Issues • Plans for Amsterdam in April

We’ll be for 3 days in Amsterdam just before Easter (family with 2 teens). We’ve been once before some 5 years ago, at that time saw the Van Gogh and some other museums, Vondelspark, etc. Here is starter plan now, would love feedback on any of these if you have tried them

- We’ll do a canal cruise, last time the kids were jet lagged and slept through it. Thinking of booking Those Dam Boat Guys
- We’ll do 1 or 2 of the free walking guided tours – daughter already chose the Anne Frank one, she wanted also the Dark Side, but it says it’s 18+, she is 16, any idea if they enforce/check?
- We like to do food tours in cities, and usually use The Secret Food Tours, never had a bad one, and this one is in Jordaan which is an area we wanted to see anyway. Turns out though that there is a free food walking tour, definitely less food and probably more around the center, but free. Still deciding what is better, anybody who has tried either in Amsterdam?
- A'Dam lookout, is the swing fun, or a bit of waste? Really on the fence about this one
- Artis Zoo (just because we'll be staying right next to it), worth visiting?
- Other plans: Resistance museum and the Maritime Museum (kids pick), strolling through Bloemenmarkt and Albert Cuyp
- Lastly, daughter wants to have a look at the university (UvA), but they don’t have organized visits here as in the US (I think) – is she likely to be able to get a sense by walking around campus?

Thanks!
