Yea thats my hesitation with it. Love the fund, hate the .71% ER (My back tester says .73%) that I believe it is. Hard to justify opening a TRP account and pulling assets out of my Wellington & Wellesley that I own at .18% & .16%. I'm hoping they have an admiral option like W/W does. If I invest next year, I would invest more than the minimal, up to maybe 25% of my portfolio. Its a big if because im really happy with my Vanguard W/W combination. What is the ER (expense ratio) of Cap App?Probably just a regular strategy, but they have "closed funds" open if you have enough $ with them. I chose the Cap appreciation fund, which has a 38 year return better than the S and P 500. I put a huge chunk, for me, in the Cap appreciation fund, and watched the fireworks the other day.
When the market went down about 3.5% the other day, my fund went down about .50%!!! the fun is allegedly a 55/45 fund. Today the fund bounced back very well. Man, I am telling you even though I have an account with Fidelity also, so I can watch and compare how the funds' websites work, I am so tempted to put everything into this fund. I probably will as the years go by. I'm only 60.
I can't believe I stumbled onto this fund at this age! I will probably get a part-time or small job after retirement, and continue to put new money into both a Nasdaq index fund and this fund, probably about 50/50.
Anybody else discover a managed fund that has beaten the S and P 500 index over a long time? I still can't believe this.
John
