Bogleheads,
What is the best way for me to compare pension options? I'd like a model that works with the below inputs and outputs:
Inputs
- Age
- Survivor Benefits (Yes/No)
- Age Spouse
- Monthly Payment
- COLA (Yes/No)
Output
- Lump sum value of pension
I thought I could do this on immediateannuities.com, but that turned out to be more of a guess-and-check method where I have to input the amount to invest and check if comes out to the desired monthly payment. It also caps the amount to invest at $2M. Is anyone aware of a model that can do what I'm asking? Thanks so much.
