Ihink this works well for what is desired. It s a free site and very easy to use.I used to frequent another forum for years and people would constantly complain about how out dated the software was and how you couldn't edit a post, etc. Well, one day the site changed the software and then everyone complained loudly how bad the changes were and most didn't return to use it.The software for this forum is pretty much without modifications. Modifications made to the software make it more expensive and time consuming to implement new improved revisions. It’s all about saving money and for owners/administrators while maintaining quality for users.
I’ve been on multiple forums which use phpBB software and the ones with obvious changes to the base are the ones with the the most problems and instability.
What one person might like someone else doesn't.
Often simplicity is best, especially if it leads to reliability. We've all seen/visited web sites that have so many menu options, etc. that you can't find anything. Sometimes it is easier for me to google things about Fidelity or Schwab (my two brokerages) and figure out how to find stuff as opposed to easily finding it within their web pages.
Personally this site does what I think most people need. It provides useful information for free in a reliable and usually easy to use manner.
