Personal Consumer Issues • Severe Water Damage in Apartment with Baby [MA]

The good news is that a drastic flood like that almost certainly didn't harm the baby. Mold and such come in after months and years of damp.
Not in my experience. 48 hours after a serious plumbing leak, carpet and back of drywall had visible mold/mildew with an odor present.

A week or two after a hurricane flooding, drywall and backing were covered in visible mold even far above the high water mark. Was probably much sooner than that, but the state kept everyone away so couldn’t check sooner.
Mold doesn’t wait, certainly not months.
