We don't meet face-to-face with our CPA because we are snowbirds and file in our home state. For years, I spent hours completing that workbook, and finally asked him if I had to spend so much time and eyestrain completing all the 1099, interest, retirement, etc in the packet, and he said "no", it's really just to give us an idea of the differences from this year and last year. He uses the informaiton of the actual 1099's, etc.I do fill out the questionnaire at the beginning, because that information can change from year-to-year. For example, we sold our primary residnece in 2024.
I organize all of our 1099's, by category for myself and my husband, and include a cover letter highlighting any major changes that affect our return.
I mail the packet to him by priority mail. If he has any questions, he calls me.
