Hi all, thanks again for the continued conversation!

Ultimately, I decided that the CSV from my insurance wasn't enough for my comfort. However, it was helpful to identify the handful of providers that accounted for the lion's share of my historical expenses. It took about half an hour to call their billing departments and request an itemized statement of past charges for tax purposes, which they all agreed to email without any fuss. I've scanned and documented those and will start collecting receipts more actively for new expenses going forward.

Cheers :sharebeer
That's what I do. These itemized statements provide much information in a concise way and shows the final amount I paid each provider, including payments paid in one year, but date of service was in a former year.
