I take it Dacia (Romanian-built Renault, pronounced "Dah-chah") has not found its way to North America?I think you mean NIssan Versa. (The Sentra is not available with a manual in the USA).I may buy a Nissan Sentra with a manual transmission. Nissan is notorious for unreliable CVT. Manuals are a few thousand dollars cheaper and more fun. MSRP & destination is around $18.7K.
A Versa with a manual is a cool throwback in a way. A no frills, base model car with a manual transmission. Almost every mainstream carmaker offered such a car twenty years ago; now the Versa is last one left. By MSRP, I think a Versa with a manual is the least expensive new car you can buy in the US.
The tougher suspension and the simplicity of the thing means it is very popular in Eastern Europe, where the roads are not as good and incomes are lower.
