Frankly, I would be terribly upset if I had to pay $10,000 income tax on such low $100K investment income because I know the income tax should be much close to zero for that amount of income.....
I recently asked myself if I made 100K of i income a year what would be the tax be. Assuming no other income other than the unqualified dividends. When I completed the calculation. the tax ended up bing only 10K. Meaning after tases I would have 90K to spend. People of reddit investing sites simply don't believe it. My conclusion from this is that for many investors you don't need a tax advantaged account. A portfolio with a value of a couple of million isn't going toe produce enough interest or dividend to to create unmanageable ammount of tax. Taxes only become a serious issues when you sell a large amount of stock.
