Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Get married in December or January?

Perfect thread showing how many people live their lives in the spreadsheet. Not everything needs to be optimized. Do whatever makes scheduling better for the couple and/or the guests. Ask whether December is more challenging for guests busy with holidays and so on, how many would need to travel, etc.

I don't understand why anyone other than the couple matters for getting married. Getting married and having a wedding can happen at two different times. When two people agree to a union, and the ideal timing for a wedding happens to be different, then get married at the county court first and deal with the wedding later.
