I don't consider that an inequity. The point of MAGI is to track your income in order to determine what you can afford to pay for something. Deductions do not change your actual income; they just give you a break on taxes.And thus the inequity in the solution. SS income increases MAGI, while the new Senior Deduction doesn't decrease MAGI.For clarity, can anyone confirm my understanding that this is a deduction, which occurs after MAGI is calculated?
So this would not impact IRMAA cliff triggers?
