The Secretary of Commerce announced today that they will be issuing their statistics on "the blockchain".

Huh? What? I mean, this was hilarious joke a few years back when every company from shoe stores to the pancake house claimed they were somehow now on the blockchain, but now the US government is a punchline?

The most important of these statistics for businesses and investors are GDP, the Producers Price Index, and International Trade Index.
I just confirmed this information online. Not that I doubted you. :?

Can you explain what it means (I feel like a Luddite)? How is this different from having databases of statistics on the agencies’ websites as is done now?
