Personal Consumer Issues • Food expiration dates, how you view/approach them

I think"best by" dates on most products are somewhat arbitrary so I don't mind going a little beyond them. When I get new stock of a product I put it behind ones already in the pantry to avoid one day finding one that is 20 years old. But in general my motto is "if in doubt, throw it out."
