I would prefer to turn off auto-liquidation.
You can "de facto" turn off auto-liquidation in the CMA by:

1. Limiting the amount in the CMA to begin with, holding those funds in a separate CMA or brokerage.
2. Investing in funds (like SGOV) that will not auto-liquidate.
auto-liquidation is the whole damn point of convenience absent in Vanguard CMA ... if you want inconvenience then Vanguard CMA is the way to go with even more % in VUSXX vs FRSXX/FSIXX
