Personal Consumer Issues • Telescoping walking stick?

In 2010 I bought a telescoping hiking staff from LL Bean called "the rambler." It has a curved handpiece like a cane, but collapses down to about 22 inches. I have used it as a hiking staff when fully extended and a cane when shortened, though it is not marketed as a cane. So far I haven't managed to break it. Bean still sells "the rambler" for around $80, about twice its cost in 2010.

I concur with another poster to suggest you might want to seek medical opinion about the cause of your problem. I hope it's nothing serious, and wish you good luck.
Only addressing the medical opinion part here.

Since June 20th which was the first onset of feeling any pain in my knee I've seen at least 8, 9 different medical people seeking an opinion. Have had an MRI. Cortisone shot in knee (did not work). EMG scheduled for next month. Epidurmal in spinal area to occur in back sometime in October. Am seeing two different physical therapists but I'll be only using one going forward.

So full out assault on the medical end.

All pain has left that had been there in the leg. All that remains is the weakness that came out of nowhere with no proximate cause.

So I'm trying to just address that the leg is weak and how I can most easily get off the ground when I am out somewhere. My camera bag is always with me when I am out so something I can attach to the camera bag just like my umbrella which is attached to it. Don't want to separately carry along with me some kind of pole or cane. Don't need it to walk. Just assistance to push off the ground with.

Also, see my original post with Edit.
