Agree about using pre-established bookmarks vs. clicking on hyperlinks and all the other tips in the article; also if I do wonder about a website I haven't visited before, I try to check the "registration age" of the website at https://lookup.icann.org/en . For example, WSJ.com was registered on May 26, 1994. Although the age of the website isn't foolproof (some of the more sophisticated crooks have 'aged' sites), it can help (if a website is days or just months old, higher risk of it being a scam).
